Host Accounts
Host accounts are created through Google OAuth authentication. By signing in with Google, you authorize SocialTix to access your basic profile information (name, email, and profile picture) for account creation and management purposes.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities that occur under your account. You must notify SocialTix immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Each person may maintain only one Host account. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination of all associated accounts.
Buyers
Buyers do not need to create an account to purchase tickets. Ticket purchases are processed using the Buyer's email address for delivery of digital tickets and communication regarding the event.
4. Host Terms & Responsibilities
Event Information
Hosts are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all event information, including but not limited to event date, time, venue, ticket pricing, prize descriptions, and any other details published on the Platform.
Hosts must promptly update event information if any details change and communicate material changes to Buyers who have already purchased tickets.
Legal Compliance
Hosts are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- Manitoba liquor licensing requirements through the Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority (LGCA)
- Manitoba Gaming Control Commission regulations for raffles, draws, and lotteries
- Food safety permits and health regulations
- Event insurance requirements as applicable
- Venue capacity and fire safety regulations
Event Responsibility
The Host is solely responsible for the event itself, including its organization, execution, safety, and all interactions with attendees. SocialTix is a platform that facilitates event listing and ticket distribution only.
Stripe Connect Account
Hosts who enable online payments must complete Stripe Express account onboarding, which includes identity verification and banking details.
By onboarding with Stripe, Hosts agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement and Stripe Services Agreement.
Hosts are responsible for maintaining their Stripe account in good standing. SocialTix may disable payment processing for Hosts whose Stripe accounts are suspended or restricted.
Prohibited Events
Hosts may not list events that involve or promote:
- Illegal activities of any kind
- Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Fraudulent or misleading content
- Content that promotes violence or hate
5. Ticket Purchase Terms
Transaction Relationship
Ticket purchases constitute a transaction between the Buyer and the Host. SocialTix facilitates the listing of events and generation of digital tickets but is not a party to the transaction between Buyer and Host.
When a Host enables online payments, card transactions are processed by Stripe directly on the Host's connected Stripe account. SocialTix is not a party to the payment transaction.
All ticket prices are displayed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Hosts are responsible for setting accurate pricing on their event listings.
Digital Tickets
Tickets are delivered digitally via email to the address provided by the Buyer. Each ticket contains a unique QR code for event admission.
- Ticket codes are unique and non-transferable unless the Host explicitly permits transfers
- Buyers are responsible for keeping their QR code secure and not sharing it with unauthorized parties
- SocialTix is not responsible for tickets that are lost, stolen, or shared by the Buyer
- The Buyer must present a valid QR code for admission to the event
6. Payment Terms
Manual Payments (Interac e-Transfer)
When a Host enables manual payments, ticket purchases are paid via Interac e-Transfer directly from the Buyer to the Host. SocialTix does not hold, escrow, process, or intermediate any funds for manual payment transactions.
Online Payments (Stripe)
When a Host enables online payments, card payments are processed by Stripe on the Host's connected Stripe account. SocialTix collects a flat platform service fee of $0.50 CAD per transaction.
Stripe's standard processing fees (currently approximately 2.9% + $0.30 CAD per transaction) are charged to the Host's Stripe account. These fees are set by Stripe and are subject to change per Stripe's own terms.
Buyers' payment card information is collected and processed entirely by Stripe. SocialTix does not store, access, or handle card data. Stripe is a PCI Level 1 certified service provider.
All online payments are processed in Canadian Dollars (CAD).
Fees & Pricing
Ticket prices are set by Hosts. SocialTix does not control or influence ticket pricing.
The platform service fee is non-refundable except where a full refund is processed through Stripe, in which case the application fee is also refunded.
Stripe's processing fees are governed by Stripe's own terms and fee schedule.
7. Refund & Cancellation Policy
Manual Payment Refunds
For Interac e-Transfer purchases, refunds are handled entirely between the Buyer and Host outside the Platform. SocialTix has no ability to process or reverse e-Transfer payments.
Online Payment Refunds
For Stripe purchases, Hosts may initiate refunds through the Platform. Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear in the Buyer's account within 5–10 business days.
When a refund is processed, the platform service fee is also refunded. Stripe's processing fees on refunded transactions are governed by Stripe's refund policy.
Event Cancellations
In the event of a cancellation, the Host is responsible for communicating directly with all Buyers who have purchased tickets. SocialTix may assist in facilitating communication but is not obligated to do so.
Buyers acknowledge that by purchasing a ticket, they are entering into a transaction with the Host and that any disputes regarding refunds or cancellations must be resolved directly with the Host.
8. User Content
Content Ownership
Hosts retain ownership of all Content they upload to the Platform, including event images, descriptions, and other materials. By uploading Content, Hosts grant SocialTix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute the Content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform and the Host's events.
This license terminates when the Host removes the Content from the Platform or deletes their account, except where the Content has been shared with or cached by third parties.
Content Standards
SocialTix reserves the right to remove any Content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or Platform policies. However, SocialTix does not guarantee the moderation, review, or monitoring of all user-submitted Content.
Users are solely responsible for the Content they submit and any consequences arising from its publication on the Platform.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SocialTix, its operators, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) any event you host or attend through the Platform; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (e) your infringement of any third-party rights.
14. Termination
SocialTix may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at its sole discretion, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.
Upon termination of a Host account, all associated event listings will be removed from the Platform. Existing tickets that have already been purchased remain the responsibility of the Host to honor.
Upon termination, the Host's Stripe Connect account connection to SocialTix will be severed. Any pending payouts from Stripe will be handled according to Stripe's own policies. The Host's standalone Stripe account may continue to exist independently of SocialTix.
Users may delete their accounts at any time. Deletion of a Host account will cascade to all associated socials and event data. Buyers may request deletion of their personal information by contacting support@socialtix.ca.
15. Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
In the event of any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of the Platform, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting SocialTix at support@socialtix.ca. The parties shall have thirty (30) days from the date of initial contact to reach a resolution.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, the courts of the Province of Manitoba shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal proceedings arising out of or relating to these Terms.
16. Third-Party Links & Services
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by SocialTix. SocialTix has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.
Your use of third-party websites and services is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.

SocialTix reserves the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at its sole discretion. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised to reflect the date of the most recent changes.
For material changes, SocialTix will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the Platform or via email. Your continued use of the Platform after the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for updates.

The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent.
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and SocialTix with respect to your use of the Platform and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, agreements, and understandings, whether written or oral.
